SPECIALISING IN DEMENTIA & RESIDENTIAL CARE IN NOTTINGHAM

Clifton View has taken many steps to ensure the protection of residents.

All staff are required to have an enhanced DBS as well as safeguarding training which details protecting all residents.

Clifton View has many adaptations to the building to ensure safety, starting with access. All of our gates and main doors are keypad operated meaning non unauthorised people can enter the building. We have an intercom system which allows staff to identify anyone wanting to come into the home. All doors that lead out of the home, including fire doors have an alarm which notifies all staff members if opened, this minimises the risk of any authorised persons entering the building.

Each room has a call bell system built in, including a portable button for those that may not have the mobility to press the built in system. There is an additional option of having a sensor that detects movement of those with a high falls risk. These sensors will be agreed with the resident or family where possible.

All staff are training in Safeguarding and the Human Rights Act (1998) during induction. Procedures are in place and guidance is given on “Whistle blowing” with policies in place and readily available within the home.

Any allegation of abuse/violence and mistreatment will be promptly investigated by the Management Team. If proven, appropriate action will be taken. This may include the dismissal of an individual employee. All details of the investigation will be documented and kept as evidence.

Where necessary, any member of staff dismissed and thought to be unsuitable to work with vulnerable elders will be referred to the Protection of Vulnerable Adults Register for consideration that they be black-listed.

Family Members are encouraged to have active participation in the decisions and choices made in the operation of Clifton View and the day to day services and facilities.

Your legal rights will be upheld at Clifton View and family members are registered on the list of electors. Family members will be given the opportunity to vote in both local and national elections. If you cannot easily participate with the voting process and express a wish to take part then you will be given every
